Named in honor of the loyal Clarkson hockey booster, who passed away in 1984, the Neragin award is presented to a player who excels in sportsmanship and academics, and who has contributed significantly to the Clarkson hockey program ... A top student majoring in business, he was a co-founder of the Clarkson Hockey team’s charitable organization Knights for Kids ... Shared the Clarkson Booster Club's Knight Club Award with classmate Trevor Edwards.
JUNIOR YEAR (2002-03)—Saw limited time playing in 20 games, but made his presence felt in the later stages of the season, skating in 10 of the last 11 games … Scored all three of his goals in a six-game span in February … Tallied first goal of the season in 7-3 win at Princeton (2/7) … Also scored in 6-3 loss at Vermont (2/14) and in 5-2 win over Princeton at Cheel Arena (2/22) … First point of the year was an assist in 2-1 triumph at Rensselaer (11/8).
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2001-02)—After a slow start, due in large part to a hand injury suffered in the first game, he began to contribute down the stretch with five (1-4) of his 10 points (3-7) coming over the last 10 games …Played in 21 games overall … Tallied a power-play goal and one assist in 4-1 win over Vermont (3/1) … Set up one goal in 6-1 victory over St. Lawrence in second game of the ECAC Quarterfinals … Tallied three points (1-2) in 8-5 win over nationally-ranked UNH (12/7) … Also scored in 2-2 tie at Harvard (12/1) … Missed eight games at the start of the season after suffering a broken finger in the season-opener against St. Cloud (10/12).
FRESHMAN YEAR (2000-01)—A talented offensive rookie with 17 points on four goals and 13 assists through 32 games … Notched one power-play goal and one game-winning marker along with a +3 rating … Unselfish with the puck, recording five two-assist games … Had back-to-back two-assist outings in win at Brown (2/19) and victory over Colgate (2/23) … Set up two goals in first collegiate game, a 4-2 win over Quinnipiac (11/4) … Posted two assists in 7-2 victory at St. Lawrence (11/18) … Registered two assists in 6-1 triumph over Princeton (2/3) … Tallied winning goal and one assist in 7-6 victory over Ohio State (12/28) in Everblades College Classic in Florida … Scored Knights’ first goal in 3-2 double-overtime victory over Vermont in second game of ECAC Quarterfinals (3/10).
