Hockey program … Helped to lead the Golden Knights to three winning campaigns in four seasons and to the ECACHL playoffs in all three years of eligibility … The Green and Gold compiled 69 total victories with Kira playing a key role in Clarkson’s success ... Four Years That Will Last a Lifetime
SENIOR YEAR (2006-07)—Battled injuries throughout most of the season … Still played in 23 games, including 22 starts as the Knights’ number one netminder … Posted a .901 save percentage and a 2.26 goals against average en route to a 7-12-3 record … Earned three shutouts … Opened season with nine saves in 9-0 rout of Vermont (9/29) … Also blanked Colgate 1-0 with 20 stops (2/3), and shutdown Union in Schenectady 4-0 behind 14 saves (2/17) … Posted three 30+ save efforts … Made a season-high 39 stops in 3-3 overtime tie at Mercyhurst (10/14) … Named to the ECACHL All-Academic team.
JUNIOR YEAR (2005-06)—First ever All-America for Clarkson’s NCAA women’s hockey program, gaining second team honors on the AHCA national all-star squad … Named ECACHL Goaltender of the Year along with gaining conference all-star first-team recognition … Ranked among the top goaltenders in the nation throughout the 2005-06 campaign … Backboned one of the stingiest defenses in the country and
helped to lead the nationally-ranked Knights to a 22-14-1 overall record and a tie for third place in the ECACHL with a 12-8 league mark … Started in 35 games and boasted a .937 save percentage and a 1.29 goals against average en route to a 21-12-1 record, including an NCAA-high 10 shutouts …. Started all 20 league games and ranked second in the conference in both save percentage (.936) and GAA (1.25) and posted a league-high eight shutouts … Saved some of her best efforts of the year in the ECACHL Quarterfinal series at Harvard (3/3-5) where she stopped 116 of 120 shots through 222:50 of play in the three-game quarterfinal series as the Knights came within one goal of knocking off the eventual league champions … Posted a career-high 51 stops in 2-1 double overtime loss to Harvard (3/5), which was the longest game in Clarkson’s history at 84:22 … Named ECACHL Goaltender of the Week three times (10/24, 11/14, 12/5) and gained league weekly honor roll status six times (10/31, 11/7, 1/16, 1/23, 2/6, 2/20) … Selected as the 2006 All-USCHO second-team goaltender and was twice named as USCHO Defensive Player of the Week (11/15, 12/6) ... SOPHOMORE YEAR (2004-05)—Played in 30 games, including 29 starts, as Clarkson’s number one goaltender … Posted a .917 save percentage and a 2.25
goals against average for a 10-15-3 record, including three shutouts … Turned aside all 31 shots in 1-0 win over Niagara at Cheel (12/3) … Made 22 saves in 2-0 victory over Cornell (1/29) … Blanked Vermont behind 20 saves in 3-0 triumph (2/11) … Backboned the Golden Knights to the biggest win in the program’s brief NCAA history with 28 saves in 3-2 victory over Brown (2/19) … Posted 46 saves in 2-1 overtime loss at ninth-ranked Princeton (2/4) … Made a combined 82 saves against ECACHL champion Harvard in the league’s playoff quarterfinal series in Cambridge, MA (3/4-5), including a season-high 49 stops in game two … Gave an outstanding effort in back-to-back games against North Country rival and traditional NCAA power St. Lawrence, finishing with 42 saves in 3-2 loss to the Saints in Canton (11/27) and with 27 stops in 1-1 overtime tie at Cheel (11/28) to earn ECACHL Goaltender of the Week and USCHO Defensive Player of the Week accolades … Selected three times to the conference’s weekly Honor Roll (12/6, 2/7, 2/14).
