CLARKSON REBOUNDS WITH WIN OVER UNION

Potsdam, NY – Junior Chris Blight (Cambridge, ONT) scored two third-period goals to pace Clarkson University to a 4-1 victory over Union College in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) action before 2,432 fans at Cheel Arena Saturday night. With the Golden Knights holding a slim 2-1 advantage late in the game, Blight connected on a pass from senior Trevor Edwards (Carleton Place, ONT) at 18:16 to give Clarkson a 3-1 cushion. Fifty-four seconds later, Blight scored into an empty net for his team-high seventh goal of the season to seal the victory. Clarkson, which lost to Rensselaer 4-3 in overtime on Friday, improved its record to 4-2-2 overall and to 1-1 in the ECAC. The Dutchmen lost for only the second time this season, falling to 6-2-1 overall and to 1-1 in league play.
 
Brent Williams put Union on the scoreboard first with his first goal of the season, a power-play marker at 7:38 of the opening period, Clarkson came back to tie when junior Mac Faulkner (King City, ONT) tipped in a pass at the top of the crease from line mate, freshman Mike Sullivan (Stouffville, ONT) at 13:57.
 
Edwards put the Knights on top late in the second period, knocking in a pass from junior Jay Latulippe (Saratoga Springs, NY) with 2:25 remaining in the middle frame.
 
Clarkson outshot Union 29-20. Sophomore Dustin Traylen (Kirkland, QUE) posted  19 saves for the Knights.
