ELMIRA USES STRONG 2ND HALF RUN TO DEFEAT KNIGHTS

Elmira, NY - Trailing by just one point early in the second half, the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team was on the losing end of a 24-2 run as Elmira College defeated the Golden Knights 69-43 in a non-league game Saturday afternoon at Speidel Gym.

Freshman Sarah Wesner (Sidney, NY) was the only Clarkson player to reach double digits in points, scoring 13 on 5-for-11 shooting from the field. Wesner also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end. Classmate Mickala Henson (Waverly, NY) added 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks for the Golden Knights, who fell to 1-5 overall, while junior guard Linda Fernandez (Kennebunkport, ME) scored 9 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and made 3 steals.

Clarkson returns to action next semester when they visit Middlebury College on January 3rd.
