FERNANDEZ BREAKS STEAL RECORD, BUT KNIGHTS FALL TO RIT

Rochester, NY - Sophomore forward Sarah Wesner (Sidney, NY) scored a team-high 12 points and added 13 rebounds but the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team dropped a 66-53 decision to RIT Tuesday evening.

The Golden Knights fell to 1-4 overall while RIT moved to 3-2 on the season. Clarkson closes out the first half of the season tomorrow against Hilbert College.

Senior Linda Fernandez (Kennebunkport, ME) made three steals, becoming Clarkson's all-time leader in career steals, passing Mary Sliva's 237 steals from 1985-89. Fernandez also added eight points and eight assists. Junior guard Erika Fritjofson (East Barre, VT) added 12 points and sophomore forward Mickala Henson (Waverly, NY) scored 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting.

Noelle d'Estries scored a game-high 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting to lead the Tigers. The Tigers received all 66 of their points from their starting five.
