Troy, NY - Senior point guard Linda Fernandez (Kennebunkport, ME) scored more than 20 points for the second time in four games, but the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team could not overcome the Rensselaer's Kaitlin Saunders, falling 65-45 in a Liberty League conference game to the Red Hawks Friday night.

The Golden Knights dropped to 3-11 overall and 0-3 in the Liberty League. Clarkson looks to get on the winning track Saturday afternoon when they visit Vassar College. 

Fernandez scored 21 points, just two short of her career-high, on 6-for-12 shooting from the floor. She also made 9 of her 11 free throw attempts. Fernandez also recorded five steals, her third straight game with five or more steals and eighth game this season with five or more thefts. She moved into 20th all-time at Clarkson in scoring, surpassing 600 career points.

Kaitlin Saunders bested Fernandez's scoring output, producing 25 points and six steals for the Red Hawks.
