Poughkeepsie, NY - Vassar's Meredith McGair hit a jump shot with just seven seconds remaining as the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team fell to the Brewers 46-44 in a Liberty League conference match up Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights dropped to 3-12 overall and 0-4 in conference play and return to action on Tuesday when they host arch-rival St. Lawrence University at Alumni Gymnasium.

Sophomore forward Mickala Henson (Waverly, NY) scored a team-high 12 points for the Golden Knights, shooting 3-for-8 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Sarah Wesner (Sidney, NY) added 10 points and senior Ashley Janisewski (Chateaugay, NY) grabbed eight rebounds, including five on the offensive end, in just 14 minutes for Clarkson.

The Golden Knights started off to a 21-9 run in the first 13-plus minutes, but Vassar ended the half on a 20-2 run. Clarkson battled back to tie, only to succomb to McGair's late basket. She finished with 13 points while Natalie Serkowski finished with game-highs of 14 points and 8 rebounds for the Brewers.
