CLARVOE NAMED COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA FOR SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR

November 10, 2005

For the second straight year, Suzanne Clarvoe (Hartwick, NY) of the Clarkson University Volleyball team was selected to the ESPN the Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-America team for her outstanding effort in both the classroom and on the court.

Clarvoe, a senior setter, was named to the District 1 Second-Team for the second straight year, the first time a Clarkson female athlete has received back-to-back Academic All-America awards since Katie Johnson in 1999-2000. Clarvoe has a 3.889 grade point average in business and technical management and was named to the Liberty League All-Conference Second-Team this year for her prowess on the volleyball court.

Clarvoe set a single-season record for assists this season, breaking her own mark set just last year, with 1,176 sets. Her assists per game ranked second in the conference and her aces per contest was also one of the best marks in the league. Clarvoe recorded nearly 3,000 assists in just three seasons at Clarkson.

The Golden Knights finished the season with a 20-14 record, their third-straight season with 20 or more wins, and finished the NYSWCAA Tournament in a tie for fifth place.
