Plattsburgh, NY - Freshman Jill Collins (Potsdam, NY) scored a first-half goal to account for the Clarkson University Women's Soccer scoring as the Golden Knights dropped their season-opener to the Plattsburgh State Cardinals 4-1 in a non-league contest Thursday night.

The Golden Knights start off the season 0-1 while Plattsburgh moves to 1-0. Clarkson will try to better their record this weekend when they host the North Country Classic on Saturday and Sunday at Clarkson Field.

Senior Gena Rosenbaum scored two goals in the first half to give the Cardinals a 2-0 advantage before Collins cut the lead to one in the first half. Sophomore Catie Reed (Lafayette, NY) picked up the assist for Clarkson.

Yvette Rada and Katrina Liska each added second half goals for the final tally.
