Potsdam, NY - Sophomore Catie Reed (Lafayette, NY) scored her first goal of the season amidst a late-scoring flurry as the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team fell 4-1 to RIT Saturday afternoon at Clarkson Field.

The Golden Knights dropped to 1-3 on the season and host Russell Sage at noon on Sunday. The Tigers earned their first win of the season and improved to 1-3.

After a scoreless opening 28 minutes, the Tigers got on the board off a direct kick by Alaina Chorney. Chorney's kick was tipped by Clarkson goaltender Meagan Emlaw (Norwood, NY) and then bounced off the under edge of the crossbar and popped back out in front where Emily Traversi waited to put the rebound in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. RIT gained another goal from Mallory Frost less than two minutes later with a chip shot from the corner of the penalty box. Traversi assisted.

Traversi seemingly put the game away in the 84th minute when she scored her second goal of the contest on a pass from Chorney, but Clarkson's Catie Reed made the game interesting again when she responded just 35 seconds later with a bounding groundball that made its way past RIT goalkeeper Heather Moe.

However, the Tigers took advantage of the tired Knights with a goal just two and a half minutes after Reed's goal for a final tally of 4-1. Anna Kolnik scored her second goal of the season on another bouncing groundball with Chorney picking up her second assist.

Emlaw made four stops in net while Moe made three saves for the Tigers. RIT out shot the Golden Knights 11-6 and owned a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
