Potsdam, NY - Thanks to 12 kills and 8 digs from junior outside hitter Claire Horvath (South Bend, IN), the Clarkson University Volleyball team extended its winning streak against Potsdam State to 12 straight matches as the Golden Knights beat the Bears in three straight games Tuesday night at Alumni Gymnasium.
The Golden Knights improved to 6-4 on the season while the Bears fell to 5-4. Clarkson continues its tough schedule this weekend when they play at the RIT Invitational.
Clarkson won the first game handily, 30-17, but had to battle in the second two games, winning 30-26, 30-18 for the three-game sweep. Freshman Hilary Lockwood (Victor, NY) contributed 10 kills and six digs for the Golden Knights while Stephanie Thornton (Corning, NY) added nine kills and seven digs. Suzanne Clarvoe (Hartwick, NY) also added 34 assists and three aces.
