GREEN AND GOLD ENDURE ROUGH GOING IN 7-0 LOSS TO HERONS

Geneva, NY - A difficult stretch of conference games which began yesterday got tougher on Saturday as the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team was beaten by sixth-ranked William Smith 7-0.

The Golden Knights fell to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the Liberty League with the loss while the Herons improved to 7-0 and 2-0. Clarkson returns to non-league action next Saturday when they visit Ithaca.

Sophomore goalkeeper Meagan Emlaw (Norwood, NY) made nine saves and was kept busy by the high-flying Herons as William Smith out shot Clarkson 24-3, including a 13-1 advantage in the opening half.

Laura Burnett-Kurie scored four times while Johanna Murphy had three assists for the Herons. Nikki Dudley made two saves for the shutout for William Smith.
