Potsdam, NY - Sophomore Matt Ulsh (Rochester, MN) and freshman Laura Shaddak (Oswego, NY) crusied to a pair of individual event victories, but the Clarkson University Swim team lost both the men's and women's meets to St. Lawrence on Friday afternoon at Fuller Pool.
The Golden Knights' men dropped a close meet to the Saints, 127-110, while the women fell in a more lopsided meet 124-76.
Ulsh picked up victories in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:06.80 and then earned a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 1:04.31. Classmate Corey Van Woert (Binghamton, NY) also claimed first place in the 50 freestyle in 25.45 and junior Corey Curtis (Erieville, NY) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.50.
On the women's side, Shaddak was the only swimmer for the Knights to win any events, but finished first in the 100 freestyle (1:03.99) and 200 freestyle (2:20.29) along with swimming on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:57.17).
The Golden Knights return to action on Saturday when they swim in the Oswego Relays.
