A four-goal outing by junior midfielder Lindsey Grigg (Watertown, NY) lifted the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team to a 9-8 come-from-behind victory over Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday afternoon in Wellington, Florida.
Trailing 5-2 after the first 45 minutes, the Golden Knights outscored the Chargers (0-2) by the same margin in the second half and then put up two more goals in overtime to gain their first win of the year.
Grigg and freshman Erin Balestrino (Pittsford, NY) scored for Clarkson in overtime after sophomore Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) forced the extra sessions with her first goal of the year in the final minute of regulation play.
Sophomore Alexis Miller (Vestal, NY) tallied twice and senior Lindsay Roberts (Averill Park, NY) added one goal to round out the Clarkson goal scorers.
Junior Erin Duffy (Liverpool, NY) posted three saves in each half and another one in overtime for a seven-save effort.
At 1-1, the Knights will close out their spring trip in Florida with Friday's game against Oswego State at 9:00 a.m.
