Bojarski Scores Four In Knights' Season-Opener

March 9, 2007

Rochester, NY - Sophomore Emily Bojarski (Syracuse, NY) scored a team-high four goals, including the first two tallies of the game, but the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team dropped its season-opener to RIT, 16-10, Friday afternoon.

The Golden Knights fell to 0-1 and return to action against Elmira College on Saturday. The Tigers of RIT evened their season record at 1-1.

With two goals in the first nine minutes of the second half, the Golden Knights pulled to within one score of tying the game up at 9-9, but the Tigers finished off the half with seven of the final nine goals to hold off any hope of a Clarkson comeback.

In addition to Bojarksi's four scores and three assists, senior Lindsey Grigg (Watertown, NY) added three goals to push her career total and Clarkson school record to 98. Freshman Brittnie Carroll (Dexter, NY) also scored her first three career goals.

Clarkson held a 41-31 advantage in shots, including a 24-10 peppering in the second half. The Knights also forced the Tigers into 27 turnovers, but were unable to produce much offensively off the RIT miscues.

Junior Meagan Emlaw (Norfolk, NY), playing in her first career game, made 10 saves. Kelsey Evans made 20 saves for the Tigers.
