Saratoga Springs, NY - With two goals in each half, Skidmore sent the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team to its sixth loss in league play with a 4-0 decision on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Knights dropped to 4-10-2 overall and 0-6-0 in Liberty League play, while Skidmore moved to 11-4-2 and 3-2-1. Clarkson finishes its conference schedule up on Sunday against Union College and closes out the regular season on Wednesday at Oswego State.
Though the game was scoreless for the first 30 minutes, Clarkson didn't have many chances at the net in the first half, gaining no shots and no corner kick opportunities in the opening period. Skidmore scored twice in a two-minute span with goals from Erin Donnellan, at 30:22, and Emily Quirk, at 32:23.
A similar flurry gave the Thoroughbreds the ending result as the scored twice in less than a minute in the second half. Katie Dalton scored at 54:41 and was followed up by Katie Crapuli at 55:39.
Clarkson was out shot 11-4, and Skidmore held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
