Schenectady, NY - Sophomore Kimberly Loucks (Waterloo, NY) scored four goals for the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team, but her offensive output was not nearly enough as Union College spurted out to a sizeable lead en route to an 18-6 win over the Golden Knights.
The Green and Gold dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the Liberty League, while #11/12-ranked Union improved to 4-0, 1-0. Clarkson will try to get in the win column tomorrow at Skidmore.
The Dutchwomen raced out to an 11-0 lead through the first 16 minutes before Clarkson finally broke through with a goal from Loucks at the 12:14 mark. The second half was fairly even as Union held just a 6-5 edge in scoring in the final 30 minutes.
Loucks finished with her team-high four goals, while Emily Bojarski (Syracuse, NY) picked up a goal and an assist. Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) also scored a goal, while Alyssa Breed (Macedon, NY) assisted on one score. Chace also contributed five groundballs and three draw controls, and Loucks added four draw controls.
Meagan Emlaw (Norfolk, NY) was thrown into the fire as the Clarkson goalkeeper, just a day after being added to the roster because of a rash of injuries to the Golden Knights netminders, and made 12 saves.
