Potsdam, NY - Five different players scored goals, with four coming over a stretch of just over 20 minutes, as Plattsburgh State defeated the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team 5-1 Tuesday afternoon at Clarkson Field.

The Golden Knights fell to 2-4-1 overall with their second straight loss, while Plattsburgh remained unbeaten through seven contests at 6-0-1. Clarkson faces another non-league opponent on Sunday when it hosts Russell Sage.

The Cardinals came out firing early with a goal in the 11th minute by Liz Radigan, who took a long shot from about 25 yards away and hit it over the head of Clarkson keeper Caitlin Titus (Dewitt, NY). Plattsburgh had a few chances over the next 30 minutes, but Titus and the Clarkson defense were up to task until a similar shot to Radigan's made its way into the net. Liz Everett scored on a shot from the top of the penalty area in the 43rd minute to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead going into the break.

A 13-minute stretch in the second half ended any hopes of a Clarkson comeback as Leigh Metcalf, Lindsey Keyser, and Helen Giroux all scored from the 53rd minutes to the 66th minute. The Golden Knights got on the board in the 67th minute when junior Christine Knapp (Mooers, NY) scored her first career goal with the pass coming from Ariana Czech (Big Bear City, CA).

Titus made four saves and Cait Spaeth (Essex, VT) added three saves in the second half for Clarkson, while Kathryn Lind made two stops for Plattsburgh. The Cardinals held a 22-5 edge in shots and a 5-3 lead in corner kicks for the game.
