Midfielder Meryn Lounsbury (North Norwich, NY) and backs Brittany Monroe (Massena, NY) and Alix Petitti (Amsterdam, NY) each gained Liberty League All-Star status for the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team on Thursday.
Senior Brittany Monroe, who was chosen as a Liberty League All-Star for the second straight year, was picked as a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star. With a single assist in 2009, Monroe finished her career with a goal and three assists for five points, despite playing the majority of her career as a defensive player.
A sophomore, Alix Petitti, also chosen as a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star, scored her second career goal for the Golden Knights and earned the first all-star nod in her career at Clarkson.
Junior midfielder Meryn Lounsbury rounded out Clarkson's all-conference selections and was named a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star as well. Lounsbury scored just a single assist in 2009, but she led the team in shots (37) and shots on goal (22). She is among Clarkson's current career leading scorers with three goals and an assist for seven points.
