May 20, 2009

One of the most prolific scorers in the history of Clarkson University Men’s Lacrosse, Greg Gibbons was honored as a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America to cap off an outstanding career for the Golden Knights.

A senior attackman from Baldwinsville, NY, Gibbons led the Green and Gold offense this spring, setting a Clarkson single-season record for most goals by a senior with 49, and finished with 57 points through 15 games. His efforts helped the Knights post a 10-5 overall record and earn a berth in the championship game of the Liberty League Tournament.

He scored eight goals in a contest, in the Knights’ 12-9 victory over RIT on March 25, to tie the single-game record for the Green and Gold.

Also selected to participate in the prestigious USILA North/South Senior Division III All-Star Game, Gibbons was a two-time Liberty League Performer of the Week this season and was named to the first-team of the NYS All-Star team.
