Rochester, NY - Making its first road trip of the season out of the North Country, the Clarkson University Men’s Soccer team enjoyed a perfect weekend in Western New York by capping off a two-game set with a 1-0 victory at Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Knights, who gained a 2-1 win at Elmira College on Friday, improved their overall record to 5-2-1.
After a scoreless first half, junior Brett Laudermilch (Lebanon, PA) scored the game’s lone goal in the 48th minute off a low-angled shot through a crowd into the far left corner for his first career goal at Clarkson.
Freshman Scott Stuart (Ottawa, ONT) was called upon to make just one save in recording his second shutout of the season.
Clarkson outshot the Tigers (2-4-1) 16-7 and held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Knights take a three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1) into Liberty League play as they travel to Union College next Friday.
