Knights Fall by One at Brown

Sophomore goaltender Paul Karpowich (Thunder Bay, ONT) put in another stellar effort and senior Matt Beca (Mississauga, ONT) scored twice, but three straight goals early in the third period powered the Brown Bears to a 3-2 victory over the Clarkson University Hockey team in ECAC Hockey action at Meehan Auditorium in Providence, RI on Friday night.

Named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week, Karpowich recorded 31 saves to give the Golden Knights a chance for their third straight win, but Brown (8-15-3, 6-10-3) was able to capitalize twice on the power play over the final 20 minutes to pull out the one-goal victory, ending Clarkson's string of 59 unbeaten games (55-0-4) when leading or tied after 40 minutes.
