Junior guard Lauren Pluchino (Liverpool, NY) recorded two of her three 20-point games this season over the course of the past seven days for the Clarkson University Women’s Basketball team and was rewarded on Monday as she was named Liberty League Guard of the Week.
Pluchino, who shared the honor with a player from St. Lawrence, averaged a league-best 18.7 points per game over the past week, including a season-high 21 points in a 60-49 victory against Vassar College on Saturday. She also averaged 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game over the course of three contests, contributing four blocks and five steals as well. She shot 63.0% (17-for-27) from the field, 72.7% (8-for-11) from the 3-point line, and 82.4% (14-for-17) from the free throw line for the week.
Pluchino ranks third on the team in scoring at 10.7 ppg and is second in rebounding at 5.8 rpg. She ranks in the top 15 in the conference in scoring, rebounds, assists, field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage, and blocks.
