It was a rough day for the Clarkson University Women’s Lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon as national powerhouse Hamilton College shut out the Golden Knights 17-0 in Clinton, NY.
The Continentals (10-0, 4-0) raced out to 12-0 lead at the half and added five more goals over the final 30 minutes to remain perfect on the season.
Audrey Nebergall scored three goals for Hamilton.
Third-ranked Hamilton outshot Clarkson 36-5. Sophomore Hannah Walters (Amherst, NH) posted eight saves for the Green and Gold. The Continentals controlled ground balls 28-11. Junior Catherine Burgess (Watertown, NY) led the Knights with four ground balls.
At 5-4 overall and 0-3 in the Liberty League, Clarkson will try and snap out of a three-game losing skid when it hosts Morrisville State in a non-league contest at Hantz Turf Field on Tuesday, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
