Artus Earns Academic All-American Honors

Senior Sara Artus (St. Regis Falls, NY) of the Clarkson University Volleyball team added to an already impressive lists of accomplishments on Tuesday when she was honored as a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American, being named to the National Third-Team, and becoming the first female athlete in Clarkson history to gain national recognition both academically and athletically as an All-American.

Artus, who has a 3.60 grade-point average as a double major in biology and psychology, was chosen to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America District 3 First-Team and was the only member of the third district to gain recognition on any of the three National Academic All-America teams. She was also chosen as an AVCA All-American in November, earning that honor for the third consecutive year.

Artus will arguably go down as the most decorated female athlete in Clarkson University history. Just this season, Artus gained Liberty League Player of the Year honors in addition to her numerous national awards. The program's all-time leader in kills (1,710), Artus ranks 14th all-time in digs (818), 17th in aces (105), and tied for 17th in blocks (136).
