Freshman Ashley Loggins (Albany, NY) has been leading the Clarkson University Women’s Basketball team in scoring all season long and on Monday she was rewarded for her performance over the last seven days in being named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week.
Loggins, a 5-10 forward, scored a season-low 12 points (5-for-12 shooting) last Tuesday, but her contribution helped lead the Golden Knights to a 72-58 victory over crosstown rival Potsdam State. She also added seven rebounds in the win. In a loss to Elmira College, Loggins shot 8-for-16 from the floor for a team-best 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
On the season, Loggins ranks fourth in the Liberty League in scoring (16.6 points per game) and is fourth in the conference in field goals made (42). She is also third in the league in rebounding (9.2 rpg) and ranks 13th in field goal percentage.
