Clarkson Women Finish Second, Golden Knight Men Place Third in Nordic Freestyle Championships

Alyssa Dausman finished second in the 8.5k Freestyle USCSA National Championship

Senior Alyssa Dausman (Syracuse, NY), of the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team, challenged for a national title at the United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) Championships on Wednesday, finishing second in the Women’s 8.5k Nordic Freestyle competition held at Bethel Inn, Maine. Dausman, who led the Golden Knights to a second-place showing, finished with a time of 24:19.5, placing just behind Isabella Smith, of Central Oregon Community College, who had the winning time of 23:52.6.

 

Golden Knight senior Andrea Walsh (Underhill, VT) came in sixth (26:18.3) and classmate Emily Garrant (Marcellus, NY) placed eighth (26:36.0).

 

The Clarkson Men earned third place as junior Andrew Klem (Dalton, MA) paced the Green and Gold in their 8.5k race, finishing seventh with a time of 22:18.3. Elias Bucher of UNV won the men’s event with a time 20:38.1.

 

Senior Alex Benway (Queensbury, NY) place 10th (22:24.5) and classmate Bryan Rose (Honeoye Falls, NY) came in 13th (22:36.0).
