The Clarkson University Athletic Department is proud to announce the addition of Micaela Holland as the new assistant Alpine Ski coach for the 2013-14 season.
Holland, a 2011 graduate of Bates College with a degree in Sociology, was a participant at the NCAA Division I Championships in 2008, 2009, and 2011. As a freshman in 2008, Holland placed 22nd in the giant slalom and 26th in the slalom at Bozeman, MT, and in 2009 she came in 18th in the slalom and 31st in the giant slalom at Bethel, ME. As a senior, she had her best overall performance in Stowe, VT, coming in 18th in the slalom and 24th in the giant slalom.
In 2011 and 2012, Holland worked as the U-16 Women’s Ski Racing Coach at the Green Mountain Valley School in Waitsfield, VT, organizing training opportunities both domestic and abroad. This past year, Holland worked at the Dedham Health and Athletic Club in Massachusetts as a physical therapy aide.
Under the direction of head coach Skip Fox, the Golden Knights have enjoyed their two best seasons ever since January 2012, with the men placing fourth overall at the 2013 USCSA Nationals at Sun Valley, ID, and the women taking third at the 2012 USCSA Nationals in Sunday River, ME.
