Women's Soccer Preview - Knights Travel to Take on Plattsburgh

Allowing less than one goal per game this year, the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team looks to get back in the win column when they travel to take on the Plattsburgh State Cardinals Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.

The 2013 season has not been kind to the Cardinals, as they enter Tuesday's contest with a 1-5-1 record. Losers of three straight games, Plattsburgh is 0-2-1 at home and have been outscored 9-5 on the season. The Cardinals do hold the 26-3 advantage all time against the Golden Knights, but Clarkson is coming off a 1-0 home victory last year. Megan Strijek (Schenectady, NY) netted the only goal of the game for the Knights, snapping a 19 game losing streak to the Cardinals in the process.

The backline for the Green and Gold has been solid this year, allowing six goals in seven games. Goalkeeper Kim Kenline (Akron, NY) has started all seven games, recording 44 saves and posting two shutouts. She is currently 28th in the country in save percentage, stopping 90.7% of shots faced, and 60th in the nation with a goals-allowed average of .636. Nikki Carfi (Liverpool, NY) leads the team with three points, tallying a goal and two assists on the year. The Golden Knights start their Liberty League schedule next Saturday when they host RIT at 3:00 pm at Hantz Turf Field.
