Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award release

Rattray, a senior forward from Kanata, Ontario, and Ambrose, a sophomore defenseman from Keswick, Ontario, played a leading role in Clarkson winning its first ever ECAC Hockey regular season title. The Knights, who are ranked third in the national polls, won the conference title with a 16-2-4 league mark. The Green and Gold, who host Dartmouth in the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Hockey playoffs this weekend at Cheel Arena, own a 25-4-5 overall record.

"Jamie Lee is the definition of hard work pays off," stated Clarkson co-head coach Matt Desrosiers. "A bigger competitor and more committed player and teammate you will not find. She is always the first player to arrive and last to leave. The energy she brings to every practice and game is unmatched and is infectious to the rest of her team. Her work ethic and tenacity make her a threat every time she steps on the ice and a leader by example. As a leader and player, she has an indisputable impact on our team's success. She has a heavy shot but also has soft hands that have led to quite a few highlight reel goals this season. In big moments she brings her best, but Jamie Lee has been the epitome of consistency throughout the season which you need to do in order to lead the conference and country in scoring. She embodies everything the Patty Kazmaier award represents; a top performer in the country, competitiveness, performance in the clutch, personal character, and most importantly a true passion and love for the game of hockey."

On Ambrose, Matt Desrosiers stated, "In my years as a coach, I have never seen a player be able to control the game from the blueline like Erin can. Her hockey sense and vision on the ice help make everyone around her better. As good as she is offensively, she is equally as outstanding defensively. She takes great pride in the defensive zone proven by her conference leading +\- and willingness to block shots. She has not only taken great strides with her play this season but has put the same focus into her academics and everything else she does. There is no other player in the country that is as dominant as she is to their relative position as seen by her currently sitting 7th in overall scoring and 15 points better than any other defensemen in the country. Erin has matured beyond her years and wants nothing but the best for this program and her teammates"
