CU Men's Basketball Preview - vs. Potsdam State (12/1)

Only two games remain in the non-league portion of the schedule for the Clarkson Men's Basketball team, and the Golden Knights are looking to gain some momentum starting on Tuesday when they take on crosstown rival SUNY Potsdam for the second time this season.

The two teams met less than two weeks ago in the consolation game of the annual North Country Invitational, with the Golden Knights walking away with a 66-60 victory. It was the eighth win for Clarkson in the past nine meetings between the two teams and the 11th victory in 14 games since the start of the 2006-07 season. Potsdam still holds a 52-21 edge in the all-time series.

Clarkson found its offense with 81 points against Westfield State on Sunday, and the Green and Gold had their two highest-scoring halves of the season in that game. Derek Hart currently leads the Knights in scoring with 13.0 points per game, shooting 52.1% from the floor which is fourth in the Liberty League. He is also averaging 5.0 rebounds and a league-best 2.1 blocks per contest. Senior Felix Abongo is filling up the statsheet as well with 12.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 steals per game, all of which rank in the top 15 in the conference. Drew Zlogar is averginag 9.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and Conrad Zampier had a strong weekend to push his scoring average up to 7.7 points per contest. Tom Nuttle is also averaging 6.0 points per game despite playing just over 15 minutes per contest, and is the team's top 3-point threat with a rate of 43.5%.

The last game for the Bears ended in a loss against Clarkson as the team has taken 10 days off from competition. Joe Estramonte leads the team in scoring at 12.5 points per contest and Josh Blagrove is averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest. Dante Langley is shooting 47.2% from the floor and is also averaging 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
