Grobe and Manfredi Earn Capital One/CoSIDA Academic District Honors

Sophomore Stephanie Grobe and senior Cara Manfredi of the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team joined a long list of student-athletes on Thursday as the duo each earned Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 honors.

Grobe and Manfredi joined eight past Golden Knights from the women's basketball team to earn CoSIDA All-District honors. Chrissy Scanlon, in 2012, was the last member of the Knights' women's basketball program to earn the honor. There were six members on the District 3 team, which encompasses all of the Division III programs in New York, with four coming from the Liberty League.

Grobe, who has a flawless 4.00 grade-point average with a major in Biology, ranks third on the team in scoring at 10.8 points per game, which also ranks 17th in the Liberty League. She leads the team in field goal percentage (43.2%) and is also shooting 72.4% from the free throw line. The sophomore guard has also produced 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game.

Manfredi, who has a 3.72 grade-point average with a major in Mathematics, currently ranks second in the Liberty League in scoring average at 17.6 ppg. She is the top long-range shooter in the conference with 59 3-pointers made (which ranks in the top 10 in the country), more than two entire teams in the Liberty League. She is shooting 39.9% from the 3-point line, 40.1% overall and 74.2% from the free throw line.

Both Grobe and Manfredi will now advance to the national ballot with the selections to be announced in a few weeks.
