Strandholm Chosen as Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District Winner

Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Strandholm of the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team became added another honor on Thursday after a stellar second collegiate season as he was named a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 At-Large selection.

Strandholm, a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star, became the first player in Clarkson Men's Lacrosse history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and joined women's lacrosse player Christine Wright as the ninth and tenth district winners in 2014-15, the most selections in one year in Clarkson history. Strandholm, who has a 4.00 grade-point average in Engineering and Management, was one of 10 Division III student-athletes in the New York Region to earn the honor among sports that do not have their own specific academic teams. He was the only lacrosse player selected in the entire region and one of only four players in any sport from the Liberty League to gain the honor.

On the field, Strandholm earned multiple weekly awards for his performance in the Clarkson crease and finished the season with a 8.86 goals against average and a .563 save percentage to go along with 44 groundballs. He finished third in the league among goalies that earned the bulk of their team's playing time in goals against average and was second in the conference in save percentage. He also posted 166 saves, 11.07 per game.
