Continuing its perfect start, the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team defeated Green Mountain College 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Clarkson is now 5-0-0 on the season while Green Mountain falls to 0-2-0.

Clarkson opened the scoring only seven minutes into play. For the second straight day, Madison Kather found the back of the net with Tori Sailor getting the assist. Kather got an assist of her own six minutes later when she found Summer Gillespie who scored her fourth goal of the year.

A third goal for the Green and Gold came with only thirty seconds left in the first half. Kelli Grimes was the Knight who scored it, her first collegiate goal.

Twelve minutes into the second half, Clarkson added a fourth goal. Clarkson's pressure resulted in a Green Mountain defender directing a cross into her own net.

Green Mountain got on the board in the 63rd minute. Daniela Bono scored her first goal of the season.

Clarkson closed out the scoring in the 78th minute. It was Caitlin Swanson who scored the fifth goal, her first of the year.

Clarkson held a staggering 26-3 edge in shots, including 18-0 in the first half. Clarkson also held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks. Anna Damasi started the game in goal for Clarkson, playing the first half with Jordan Cahill taking the second half. Kim Simonetti made seven saves in net for Green Mountain.

The Golden Knights will return home next weekend when they host Elmira College at 4:00 pm on Friday afternoon on Hantz Turf Field.
