CU Women's Soccer Preview - at Union College (10/21)

If the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team is to earn its first Liberty League post-season berth, it will have to do so from the road, and the Golden Knights will begin that quest on Saturday at Union College. The Knights could get into the conference tournament as early as Saturday with a win over the Dutchwomen and a loss by Ithaca.

LIVE STATS

The Series: The Golden Knights have never beaten Union in 24 tries with an 0-21-3 all-time record. However, Clarkson has fought the Dutchwomen to a tie twice in the last three meetings, including a 1-1 tie in 2016.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-4-3, 3-2-1 Liberty League): The Golden Knights have posted shutouts in three of their last five games, with two coming in league play against RIT (1-0) and Bard (1-0). Sophomore Elyse Green ranks third in the conference in total saves (68) and is tied for the league lead with six shutouts. The Knights have needed that defense as they have scored five goals in their last five games, with each tally coming from a different player.

Key Stats for Union (6-5-2, 1-4-1 Liberty League): After a solid start, Union's women have struggled in league play. The Dutchwomen have scored five times in six Liberty League games, but have allowed 12 in that stretch after outscoring opponents 9-4 in non-conference tilts. Kelsey Hartsoe posted a 1.09 goals against average with an .822 save percentage in September contests, but freshman Alison Sorkenn has seen all of the time in the month of October with a 1.34 goals against average and a .741 save percentage.
