Calnan, Homan and Walton Earn Liberty League Soccer All-Star Nods

A trio of student-athletes from the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team earned all-star nods from the Liberty League, as senior Kevin Calnan, junior James Homan and freshman Mack Walton each gained notice from the conference's coaches for their performances in 2017.

Calnan and Homan each gained Liberty League Second-Team All-Star honors, while Walton was picked as a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star.

Calnan was shadowed constantly in league play as Clarkson's top offensive player, scoring 11 points with five goals and an assist in 2017. Even with the extra attention, Calnan still was a part of numerous scoring opportunities for Clarkson, helping other Knights get open because of defenders unwilling to leave him open.

For the second straight year, Homan was chosen as a conference all-star defender. One of the conference's best in the back row, Homan also discovered some offensive touch as a junior, scoring his first two collegiate goals on headers during the final 10 days of the regular season, including the overtime game-winner against Rensselaer.

One of the selections for conference Rookie of the Year, Walton was one of the top freshmen in the league from day one, making an immediate impact in the midfield for the Knights. He finished the season as the team's second leading scorer with seven points, scoring twice and assisting on three other goals. Walton was frequently called upon to set up the team's offense on direct kicks and helped Clarkson convert on several occasions.
