Tiley Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-America Team

Shea Tiley enjoyed great success on the ice this past season in backstopping the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team to the NCAA National Championship. The junior goaltender has also been a standout in the classroom and has been recognized for her efforts, being named to the 2017 Academic All-America Division I Women's At-large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

CoSIDA release

Tiley, who had a 3.88 grade-point average through five semesters while majoring in Biology, helped lead the Golden Knights to their second NCAA Division I Women's Hockey National Championship in March 2017. Selected All-USCHO Second-Team and ECAC Hockey Third-Team, Tiley ranked seventh in the country in both save percentage (.931) and goals against average (1.58). The Owen Sound, Ontario native also posted a 28-4-5 record with six shutouts for a .824 winning percentage, the third-best figure in the nation. Tiley was particularly impressive down the stretch with three shutouts in the final five games of the season, including a 41-save effort against top-ranked Wisconsin in the Knights' 3-0 victory to win the national title. Tiley was also named MOP of the ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament.

Named to the Women's At-Large third team, Tiley was one of three women's ice hockey student-athletes selected to receive CoSIDA national honors and the only representative from ECAC Hockey.

The at-large teams for the Academic All-America® program include the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo for both men and women, as well as beach volleyball, bowling, crew and field hockey for women, and volleyball and wrestling for men.
