CU Women's Soccer Preview - at Plattsburgh State (10/1)

One more game remains on the non-league slate for the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team before it hits the home stretch for Liberty League and the Golden Knights will play a rare Monday game at Plattsburgh State to close out its non-conference slate.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: The Golden Knights are just 5-29 all-time against the Cardinals, but two of those wins have come in the last three years. The Green and Gold won 2-1 in 2015 and added a 1-0 victory against the Cardinals last season when Camryn Careccia found the back of the net in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately for Clarkson, all five of its wins in the series have come in Potsdam.

Key Stats for Clarkson (4-5-1): The Golden Knights are on a three-game losing skid, but all of those defeats have come to conference opponents. In non-league games, Clarkson is outscoring the opposition by a 14-4 tally and outshooting them 126-78. Senior Summer Gillespie is tied for second on the team in scoring and has enjoyed success against the Cardinals in the past, tallying a goal and an assist during her freshman season with the Golden Knights.

Key Stats for Plattsburgh State (5-5-0): Like Clarkson, the Cardinals are on a losing streak, having dropped four straight contests, including three in SUNYAC play. Plattsburgh has been outscored 8-1 in its last four games, tallying just once on 51 shots. Despite playing just six of the team's 10 contests, Kirsten Villemaire leads the team in scoring with seven points on three goals and an assist. Katie Matott has produced three goals and Allison Seidman adds two goals and two assists in nine starts. Taylor Adams has played all 900 minutes of the season in goal for the Cardinals, sporting a 1.40 goals against average and .827 save percentage with 67 saves.
