CU Women's Soccer Preview - vs. Union College (10/20)

It is now or never for the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team as the Golden Knights close out the regular season with three home games, beginning with Saturday's contest against Union College.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: While Clarkson is winless in 25 tries (0-22-3) versus the Dutchwomen, the Knights have posted two of those ties in the last four years (0-2-2) and taken Union to overtime in three of the four contests. Last season, Union came away with a 2-1 win thanks to a goal in the 99th minute.

Key Stats for Clarkson (5-8-1, 1-5-0 Liberty League): Though Clarkson's offense has been relatively muted in the last four games, the Knights have been outscored just 3-1 in that stretch, including three 1-0 losses. The team's overall defense can be praised for that, including junior goalkeeper Elyse Green, who is posting a 1.01 goals against average with an .841 save percentage this year. Green ranks second in the conference in saves (69) and has three shutouts on her resume this season.

Key Stats for Union (6-6-1, 3-3-0 Liberty League): Union may possess the most diverse offense in the Liberty League, with no one player to key in upon. Six players have scored six points or more, and among the Dutchwomen's last seven goals, six different players have scored. Erin O'Shea leads the team with eight points on three goals and two assists, but Linsey Giles (3-1-7), Emma Schleimer (1-4-6), Paige Sherling (3-0-6), Amanda Ashmen (3-0-6) and Bella Dworkin (2-2-6) all need to be watched. Kelsey Hartsoe has tallied one more save (70) than Green to lead the conference in that category, producing a 0.91 goals against average and .864 save percentage.
