Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Knights tie Quinnipiac

Bobcats win the shootout

Clarkson jumped out to a quick start for the 3rd time in 4 games against the Bobcats, when Mathieu Gosselin scored 2:44 into the opening period, from a great centering feed from Nick Wicks.
The Knights kept that 1-0 lead for all of the 2nd period and into the 3rd, until TJ Friedmann evened the score for the Bobcats at the 6:16 mark of the third period.  Both teams had chances in the remaining time in regulation, but couldn't capitalize, so for the 7th time this season, the Knights ended up in Overtime.  Josh Dunne went off for hooking at 4:36 of the OT which gave Quinnipiac a brief power play.

With the score tied at the end of OT, the teams went to a shootout.

Zach Tsekos scored in his attempt and Ethan Haider made 2 saves in the first round, so the shootout shifted to sudden death rounds.  Clarkson was unable to score and in the 6th round, Peter DiLiberatore scored to win the shootout for the Bobcats.

Ethan Haider finished with 35 saves on the night.  Clarkson was 0 for 2 with the man advantage, while killing off all 4 of Quinnipiac's chances.

The two teams will be back at it Saturday for a 4:00 pm faceoff.
