Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Knights win in OT at Quinnipiac

Clarkson got a big overtime goal from one of the hottest players in college hockey.  Zach Tsekos, with the OT winner, has points in five straight games and goals in three of his last four games.

Clarkson jumped out of the gates quick tonight with 3 goals in the first 7:34 of the game.  Luke Mobley got a rebound off pf Grant Cooper's shot and put the Knights up 1-0 at 3:14 into the game.  Then off a turn over in the corner, Jack Jacome was able to get a shot through a sea of legs in front at the 4:04 mark.  At that point the Bobcats pulled goalie, Keith Petruzzelli.  Then after Quinnipiac went on the powerplay they put Petruzzelli back in the net.  Within the next shift, Nick Campoli was able to put the Knights up 3-0 at 7:34.  Quinnipiac was able to get a goal back on the man advantage late in the period to make it 3-1 after one period.

The Bobcats got another power play goal early in the second period, but the Knights regained the 2 goal lead when Anthony Callin scored on his own rebound at the 11:01 mark on the power play.  THe Knights had several more chances on the man advantage in the second but couldn't convert.  Quinnipiac would get another goal late in the second and after two, Clarkson had a 4-3 lead.

The third period's lone goal came when Quinnipiac had the extra attacker on for a delayed Clarkson penalty.  The teams traded penalties with two minutes left in the game.  Clarkson was on the penalty kill when Dunne was pulled down with :50 left.

Clarkson had a brief 4-3 power play to start the OT, but was not able to connect.  As time was running out, Zach Tsekos caused a turn over behind the net, Jacome found himself alone in front with the puck, his shot was saved, but Zach Tsekos, was able to bang home the rebound to give the Knights the Overtime victory.

Ethan Haider made 19 saves on 23 shots for the win.

Clarkson was 1 for 8 with the man advantage and allowed 2 power play goals on 6 Quinnipiac chances.
