The Series: Vassar has won 13 of 19 meetings dating back to the first game of the series in 1997, but Clarkson has controlled recent history, winning three of the last four games between 2016 and 2019. The lone loss for the Golden Knights was in 2017 by a single goal, while the three wins in the other years have come by an average of six goals per game.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-2): Senior Kyrsten Stone didn't have much opportunity to assert herself in Clarkson's offense a year ago after joining the Knights as a transfer, but she has played well at the start of 2021 with a team-best 11 points on eight goals and three assists. She also leads the team in groundballs (7) and caused turnovers (7). Junior Grace Hagberg and sophomore Julia Lavarnway have each added seven points, with Hagberg also contributing nine draw controls. In the last victory over the Brewers in 2019, Sydney Roderick (2-2-4), Katie Sergeant (3-0-3), and Natalie Farnett (2-0-2) led a balanced offensive effort which produced 16 goals.

Key Stats for Vassar (1-1): The Brewers shook off a season-opening loss to Union (17-9) by creating an 11-goal turnaround the next day with a 17-14 victory. Caeli Porette was busy over the weekend with 13 points on nine goals and four assists as well as eight draw controls. That is hardly out of character for Porette, as she had a huge game against the Golden Knights in 2019 with three points (two goals and one assist) to go along with 11 draws, nine groundballs, and five caused turnovers. Similarly, Alessandra Fable scored nine points with eight goals and an assist against Union, and Fable also enjoyed a solid effort in 2019 versus Clarkson, leading the team on offense with four goals and two assists for six points.
