Clarkson was able to fight back every time that Dartmouth took the lead, but couldn't hold onto a lead of their own in the third, so they had to go to overtime and a shoot out to decide the game in Hanover.
Zach Tsekos was able to score in round one and
Ethan Haider made saves on all three Dartmouth attempts to get the Knights the extra point.
Dartmouth jumped out to a 1-0 lead off a deflection in the first period.
Ayrton Martino was able to tie the game on a great odd man rush. Dartmouth took the lead 3 more times, but goals from Collins (shorthanded), Gosselin, and Pasanen allowed the Knights to keep evening the score. Then at 14:01 of the third,
Nick Campoli tipped a shot that got past the Big Green goaltender and the Knights had their first lead of the game. Dartmouth pulled their goalie for the extra attacker with just under 2:00 minutes and they were able to convert to tie up the game.
In the OT Clarkson had several scoring chances, but were unable to convert, forcing a shoot out. Tsekos scored on Clarkson first attempt and Haiders 3 saves made it stand.
Haider made 11 saves as the Knights out shot the Big Green 45 to 16. Clarkson was 0 for 4 on the power play, while allowing 1 goal on 3 chances for Dartmouth.
Clarkson will travel to Boston to face Harvard tomorrow night.
