Winter Haven, FL – Two days after scoring 20 runs in two games, the Clarkson University Softball team's offense was quieted in two low-scoring contests, falling 4-1 against Endicott College and 2-0 versus Wesleyan University on Thursday.

The Golden Knights dropped to 5-7 on the season and will now have nearly two weeks off before facing SUNY Potsdam on March 29th.

Endicott picked up three runs in the second inning. Christina Nowicki singled in a run to make it 1-0, advanced to second on a wild pitch which also scored Caitlyn Romero, and then came home on a double by Katie Watts. Clarkson got its run in the top of the next inning when Elissa Uveino scored on a dropped pop fly, but Endicott matched the score in the bottom half of the inning on a single to center by Lauren Misiaszek.

Bridget Twaits was the lone Clarkson player to record multiple hits in the game, going 2-for-4. Riley Page threw the first two innings and took the loss, striking out two while allowing five hits and two walks. Devin Fitzpatrick came on in relief and tossed four scoreless frames, giving up five hits and whiffing one.

In game two, the bats were quiet for both teams as Cardinals and Knights combined for just seven hits. Wesleyan, however, would get all the offense it would need in the first inning. With two outs, Molly Lennon singled to right to send in the first run, and then scored herself on a double by Krissy Gately. Clarkson would get a handful of baserunners in the game, but none reached second until the bottom of the seventh inning. Emma Sabourin singled with one out and moved up to second on a groundout, but the game would end on an infield fly.

Sabourin recorded two of the Knights' three hits in the game. Devin Fitzpatrick took the loss for Clarkson, striking out two and allowing a pair of earned runs in 5.1 innings. Riley Page tossed the last 1.2 innings, striking out four. Wesleyan got a complete-game effort from Isabella Secaira-Cotto, as she struck out four against three hits and a walk in seven scoreless frames.
