The Series: Each team had a big inning in last Tuesday's contest. Plattsburgh posted seven runs in the fourth inning and Clarkson came back with an eight-run sixth inning, with the game concluding in the Cardinals' favor, 14-11.

Key Stats for Clarkson (5-14): A number of freshmen have stood out for the Golden Knights this season, and many of them had solid games against Plattsburgh State the first time the teams met last week. Infielder CJ Cartier has seen the most time, starting 16 contests with a .259 average and eight runs batted in, including a 2-for-6 performance with a pair of RBI against the Cardinals. Catcher Joe Figliolino is hitting .310 in 29 at bats and produced a pair of doubles and a home run with four RBI in three games last week. James Mason is hitting .361 and was 4-for-4 in his last game against Rochester, while outfielder Aidan Kuefner is batting .325, thanks to four hits in eight at bats in two games last week. First-year collegian Tommy DiFranco did not face the Cardinals in the midweek matchup, but he allowed four runs over 9.1 innings of work in two appearances last week, and he leads the team with a 2.86 earned run average over 22 frames.

Key Stats for Plattsburgh (6-13): All nine hitters in the Cardinals' lineup had at least one hit against the Knights last week, including Patrick Cergol (3-for-6), Andrew Veit (3-for-5) and Kyle Cremin (2-for-5). Plattsburgh's offense is struggling at the plate with a .233/.334/.322 slash line, but things certainly seem to be coming around as the team has produced 27 runs in its last two games, having beaten RPI 13-3 on Friday. Cremin leads the team with a .320/.388/.493 line with two home runs and 13 runs batted in, while Alex Kornblau has team-bests in runs scored (16) and RBI (15) as well as an on-base percentage of .419, the only player on the team with an OBP above .400, save for a player with a single plate appearance.
