The Series: Clarkson is just 2-21-6 all-time against Skidmore, but the Golden Knights have gone 1-1-2 since Zac Shaw became head coach for the Green and Gold in 2019. Clarkson lost to the Thoroughbreds in the regular season last year (1-0) despite a 20-9 edge in shots. The two teams met again in the first round of the Liberty League playoffs, with Clarkson advancing on penalty kicks after a 2-2 tie through 110 minutes.

Key Stats for Clarkson (5-0-2): The Golden Knights have allowed just two goals all season, both coming against nationally-ranked opponents that had those teams coming back from deficits to tie the contest. Junior goalkeeper Molly DiCaprio has played well with a 0.31 goals against average and .923 save percentage, both figures that have her ranked in the top 30 at the Division III level. Arin Bates (630 minutes), Emily Colby (615 minutes), and Julia Tylar (604 minutes) have kept DiCaprio from being challenged too often on defense, as the team has allowed only 27 shots on goal and 50 shots overall.

Key Stats for Skidmore (4-0-2): Just like Clarkson, the Thoroughbreds have a stingy defense which has allowed only one goal through six contests. A year ago, Claire Wolgast posted a 0.54 goals against average and .923 save percentage, though she has appeared in just three games so far this year, playing a total of 135 minutes. Avery Rogers has spent 405 minutes in goal for Skidmore, with a 0.22 goals against average and .957 save percentage, figures that have her in the top 20 nationally. Overall, Skidmore is tied for eighth in goals against average so far (0.17).
