The Series: Clarkson holds a 9-2 advantage all-time against the Golden Eagles, including four straight win. The Knights have won the past three contests by an average of nine goals per game, including a nine-goal differential in last season's 16-7 victory.

Key Stats for Clarkson (0-1): The early takeaways for improvements from the Green and Gold's season-opener are simple: limit the mistakes. The Knights struggled with clears and had a few too many penalties with Muhlenberg capitalizing on those mistakes, scoring four times while up a man. Clarkson still excels offensively and defensively, possessing two 100-point scorers with another just a few points short, while the Knights defense allowed only eight goals on 45 shots, including four scores during penalty kills. Sebastian Geiger (83-29-112) and Thomas Fiebich (38-72-110) have already surpassed 100 career points and Matt Reilly is on the doorstep of the accomplishment (93 points). Reilly and Fiebich stood out a year ago against Brockport, combining for six goals and five assists in the win.

Key Stats for Brockport (0-1): The Golden Eagles have a number of newcomers on the roster in the way of transfers and freshmen as the team tries to recover from a 4-10 season a year ago. Division II transfer Nick Askin (from Lake Erie College) scored four goals in his first game with Brockport, but he was the lone player that tallied multiple goals. Freshman Marc Zappula produced four assists in his first game at the collegiate level. Jackson Worden had the best game against the Knights a year ago, producing two goals and two assists in the loss, but that proved to be roughly 30% of his offensive output for the season. Jack Acker made 14 saves in his first game for Brockport, but he was busy against St. John Fisher as the Cardinals had 35 shots on goal versus the Golden Eagles.
