The Series: Union took all three games from the Golden Knights a year ago, including the conference doubleheader and then the play-in game for the Liberty League Tournament. Clarkson had won the previous three games against the Garnet Chargers. Ithaca has won 12 of 13 games against the Knights, including 4-0 and 1-0 shutouts over Clarkson in 2023.

Key Stats for Clarkson (10-14, 2-4 Liberty League): It may seem like a broken record, but Devin Fitzpatrick has enjoyed an impressive junior campaign both in the batter's box and in the pitcher's circle. Last week, Fitzpatrick went 10-for-19 with a slugging percentage of 1.000, raising her season line to .342/.390/.740 with 11 doubles and six home runs. In the circle, she has a 2.00 earned run average and ranks second in the conference in strikeouts with 81. Senior Katy Aldous has proved to be a spark plug at the top of the lineup, hitting .342 with 10 stolen bases in as many chances.

Key Stats for Union (4-14, 3-3 Liberty League): After losing one of the top players in the region to graduation, the Garnet Chargers likely expected a bit of a dip in their record. However, once the conference season started, Union got going, winning three of six games. Ellie Wintringer leads the team with a .321/.377/.536 line, contributing three home runs with 13 runs batted in. The Garnet Chargers don't run much, having stolen just seven bases in 18 games, while opponents have swiped 37 bags in 41 tries.

Key Stats for Ithaca (16-9, 2-2 Liberty League): Haley Petrucci is off to a ridiculous start, still slugging close to 1.100 more than halfway through the campaign, due in large part to her 11 home runs, which is tied for second in all of Division III. Elise Waddington is also hitting .415/.451/.646 and is tied with Petrucci for the team lead with 27 runs batted in. Anna Cornell is one of the top pitchers in the conference, easily leading the league with 119 strikeouts in 79.1 innings of work, which includes a WHIP of just 0.89 and an earned run average of 2.12.
