The Series: Over the past 15 years, the two Knight teams have played 11 times, with six of those contests having been decided by one goal and four of them going to overtime, including last year's 9-8 win by Geneseo.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-2): Clarkson has won twice in the last three years against Geneseo, but both of those were come-from-behind victories. In 2023, the Knights trailed 6-1 20 minutes into the game, but then went on an 11-1 run to pick up the win. In 2022, Clarkson was down 8-4 with 6:30 remaining, only to hold Geneseo without a goal for the rest of regulation and overtime, winning 9-8. Defense will be the key for the Clarkson, and the Green and Gold defense is led by grad student Matt Szwagulinski, who tops the team in caused turnovers with 11 and has also added 14 groundballs.

Key Stats for Geneseo (0-3): Geneseo's winless start could fool those without knowledge of the Knights, but the team has started off the season with three games against Liberty League foes, including two in the top six in the country in Rensselaer and RIT, something that should prepare the squad for when they hit league play. Jimmy Atkinson leads the team in scoring with seven points on five goals and two assists and the winning score in last year's meeting came from his stick in overtime. Geneseo's biggest issue thus far has been on faceoffs, as the Knights have won just 20 percent of those tries, which roughly makes up the team's deficit in groundballs (117-66).
