Biography
JUNIOR YEAR (2022-23): Alex was selected as an ECAC Pre Season All Star in 2022. Alex is the recipient of the The Campbell Scholars Hockey Endowment. Established by former Golden Knight, Robert "Soupy" Campbell '61, the scholarship is awarded specifically to two players from the Province of Quebec annually that meet the academic & athletics values set forth by "Soupy".
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2021-22): Lead the team and ECAC in scoring on 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points...Named First Team All ECAC and ECAC All Academic...Top game was 2 goals and an assist vs Princeton...Had 8 multi point games...Registered a point 19 games this season, and 2 points or more in 8 games...The Knights were 11-0-1 when Alex scored and 8-0 when he recorded multiple points...Led the team with 4 game winning goals and 6 power play goals, along with 1 short handed goal on the season.
FRESHMAN YEAR (2020-21): Alex was a key contributor right from the start, playing in all 22 games and lead all rookie scoring on the team with 4 goals and 13 assists...He was 2nd on the team with a +10 rating. He was 17th nationally in scoring and 10th best in NCAA in assists. Had a 2 goal and 2 assist performance in a 6-2 win at Mercyhurst. Had an 8 game point streak early in the season and had a point in 11 of his 22 games.
BEFORE CLARKSON: Selected by the Nashville Predators in the third round (65th overall) in the 2019 National Hockey League draft … A First-Team USHL all-star this past season with the Omaha Lancers, finishing with a team-high 18 goals and 39 assists in 46 games … Skated with the Canada West U19 team at the 2019 World Jr. A Challenge … As a 15-year-old in 2015-16, he scored 51 goals with 50 assists in 30 games for Quebec's College Ste-Anne … Younger brother of fellow incoming recruit Charlie Campbell.
